Beyond The Photon
Trying to describe a photon is much like trying to describe the color blue. Essentially a photon is the most elementary part of light that can behave as either a particle or a wave. What you have to keep in mind is the duality aspect is not present at the same time. It’s behavior is determined by the circumstance at the time of observation. And what is fascinating is that life (such as yourself) is a complex arrangement of photons. So where is the ‘you’ in that amazing swirl of photons? The ‘you’ that is defined as your ‘self awareness’ is somehow linked to a specific grouping of these elementary particles which are in a sort of constant state of communication with all other photons. And that communication can occur almost instantly because the photon has no mass....it is light. Are you therefore a being of light? The concept that you are a being of light has an almost Disney like quality to it: points of light all shimmering around a beautiful forest glade. Well its a nice picture but not even close to being a representation of your self awareness. Light, like anything else in the 3rd dimension, is limited by the laws (rules) of the 3rd dimension.
Your self awareness has no limits. As an example even light takes time to traverse our galaxy. Your self awareness takes no time to do anything...you think of something (such as the far end of the milky way) and you are fundamentally there. You see, the fact is that you are already at the far end of the milky way as well as being in your home on planet earth while reading this article. You don’t need to make a trip because there is no there. The space you think of as "there" is what you (we) perceive in the dream state of life. And you will embark (focus your awareness) on a dream state called death. Life and death are simply changes in the focus of your awareness. It is the game of eternal existence and there are no limits. The rules that we (you) made for this game are beyond our comprehension (and memory) in the dream state we call 3rd dimensional life. We planned it that way.
Your self awareness is also part of every dream you have. What you decide to call reality is nothing more than your perspective (focus of attention). The difference between being awake and being asleep dreaming is nothing more than a convenience you use to keep an orderly account of experiences. Unfortunately you have come to believe that the organization actually defines what is real and what is not real. Your dream state self awareness is no less real than your awake state self awareness. In both conditions you simply accept your history without question. When your change your focus of attention you close off the memory of the experience. In the dream state you (usually) do not remember your history from what you call the awake state. And likewise in the awake state you (usually) do not remember your history from what you call the dream state. Its a good system because it keeps things in a tidy order and allows others to understand your experience from a common point of view. The bottom line is that what you call reality is what you decide. Or another way of saying the same thing is ‘you create your own reality’. It would appear that death is likely a condition of passing from one state of self awareness to another, much like waking up from a dream state. However, there is no way to demonstrate that self awareness continues beyond death. It is an assumption, much like the assumption that your self awareness continues in the dream state.
It is always tempting to box in the self awareness as if it were limited. As an example; at the time of death it is almost logical to suggest a disconnect between self awareness and the photons which defined the physical body. There is no more reason to assume that kind of disconnect than there is to assume that the dream state is less real than the awake state. Self awareness is infinite and cannot be defined by location or time. All that we experience, including that which we call ‘death’, is created by the whim of self awareness. It is no different than changing one’s attire in search of adventure at a Renaissance faire. The experience is much more vivid and entertaining when we match our character to meet the conditions of the fantasy. "All that we see or seem. Is but a dream within a dream." (Poe)
The single and most comprehensive discussion of self awareness will be found in the writings of Jane Roberts which includes the book Seth Speaks.
